Facebook?

I guess it was just a matter of time before fixit got his own facebook page, sassy dog! At least he is a faithful follower of the Mister Fixit blog. And so back to the fixing bench, Vince has had an avalanche of ipod repairs (not his favorite thing) I guess they are kind of expensive to be a throw away item. Laptops are his favorite and he is the best at it. He can bring most any of them back from the dead. Vincent also repairs adaptors and can custom make one.

Have a holly, jolly, Christmas

I think I already said , Mister Fixit, could fix anything, sooooo, Last night a repeat customer phoned because he wanted his Christmas lights fixed. I wondered why anyone would get lights fixed instead of buying new, because they are relatively inexpensive. The gentleman and his wife loved this particular string of lights, so , ta da, lights are fixed. He also had some old power tools and got Vincent to build one good one. It is great that people are reusing as well as recycling! This evening's fix is an ipod the owner went swimming with, (good luck).Oh yeah, and guess what? Mister Fixit, aka, the photographer, also fixes cameras, video, point and shoot, and more high end DSLRs.

I just thought maybe I should include a photo of  our favorite fixey guy. He's actually a little older than this and now he is also posing as a photographer ( a pretty good one at that)

and then there were two.....

Fixit was always a clutzy, lucy goosey kind of dog, we really didn't like leaving the little guy home alone on work days, and so along came a little border collie. Which leads us to her special name, Lucy, Fixit's best buddy. He's twice the size of her, but watch out when she gets mad. She can hold her ground with him that's for sure. And inseperable they have become. She's pretty tiny in this photo, she is only six weeks old and this is her car ride to her new home.

the Beginning

In the beginning there was Vince and a long line of broken appliances, microwaves, t.v.s, stereos, video game systems, computers, monitors, GPS', laptops and on and on. There probably isn't anything he hasn't fixed. And then there was Cancer, following with type 1 diabetes from the cancer treatment. After years of living a diabetic life, the complications arrived, including the heart attack, which led to much soul searching of lifestyle, which in turn led to our hero, Fixit. So for anybody out there that has some item they would rather repair and reuse instead of tossing it out, Vince would be the man to see. 10% of any money earned through the company, 'Mister Fixit Electronics' is given to the Winnipeg Humane Society, also Vince's price list is quite unusual, it is based on what you think the value of the work is. So, whether it be hardware, software, even ipods, Vince is the man. His work history is impeccable, including IBM, where he also worked on airport flight terminals. Thanks for taking time to stop by. Next post I tell you about Fixit's alter ego, Lucy! bye for now

Somewhere in the middle

This is not the beginning of our story, but it is one of the most important parts. Here's our sweet little fixit. He comes from an abandoned farm, out in Manitoba, Canada. There were 6 puppies, a mom and a dad out there, the man we talked to said to take as many as we wanted. Unfortunately, we could only take one at the time, and this little guy ran right up to us. He was the only one that looked different, as Vince says, he has a clown face. His dad is a golden retriever  and his mother, a saluki ( interesting breed). Alot of thought and care was put into choosing this puppy's name. 'Fixit' was the only name he could have because his job was to fix Vince's heart. We love you Fixit!
